San Jacinto Co.: Police response time investigated

Post by seamusTX »

In November 2009, a man with mental health issues fatally shot his mother, his girlfriend, her daughter, and himself in the town of Coldspring.

The mother had called 911 for help. The police arrived approximately seven [sic] hours later.

At the time, a police spokesman said, "We were busier than a cat covered in Meow Mix."

Now investigation may indicate that the police weren't quite that busy.

Given Lopez vs Castle Rock and about eleventy other SCOTUS decisions, the police needn't have fibbed. My prediction is nothing will happen to the department civilly or criminally. Some political heat at most.
