IWB Recommendations for a J-Frame?

Post by MojoTexas »

I recently picked up a S&W 442 J-Frame, and I'm wanting to get an IWB holster for it.

I already have a Galco horsehide pocket holster, and I like it just fine, but if I'm wearing thin pants or shorts you can still see a vague "gun" shape through the pocket, therefore I'd like to get a good IWB holster for it.

Any recommendations? I know there are a TON of options out there, but I'm specifically looking for something that is comfortable and easy-on/easy-off.

I've had good luck with Crossbreed Supertucks for two of my larger pistols, but that seems like overkill for a J-Frame. Does anyone have any experience with the Crossbreed MiniTuck?

Thanks,

The Galco tuck-n-go is pretty good if you like appendix carry.

I'll check it out. I have a couple of other Galco holsters and I like 'em.

I dont have a minituck, but I do have a supertuck for my 442. It may be overkill, but the supertuck is very very comfortable, and the 442 dissapears, under a t-shirt. The large leather disperses the minimal weight of the 442 over a large area and it works great.

Yeah I have two Supertucks...one for my Commander-sized Kimber and one for my Springfield XDm. I love 'em. However, I think they would be overkill for a J-Frame.

I wound up ordering a "Bodhi" IWB holster from Monica Kuehn Leather, LLC. They look like they would be easy-on/easy-off, and it's a local Texas business. Her website is http://monicakuehnleather.blogspot.com/ if anyone is interested. I'll let y'all know what I think once it comes in.

MojoTexas, congrats, and great choice. Monica's products are beautiful and look very well constructed. I have not personally had any experience with them, but I wouldnt hesitate to purchase from her if I needed anything.
