Good. I don't understand why as a society, we allow a handful of pirates in inflatable boats to hijack ships and hold them for millions of dollars. It is not a hard problem to solve if you ask me. A .50 cal Barrett and a sniper team would be cheap insurance. Blow those dingys out of the water while they are still a mile away. They will be bailing water out of what is left of their boat long before they get into AK-47 range.

Because it's illegal for a ships crew to defend themselves with firearms because of international law. If only those dang pirates would follow that law now, pesky little things those pirates are

Yep, ridiculous what the rest of the world dictates in open water and that our nation has acquiesced to it.

I believe in "don't ask, don't tell." Kill them, and then shut up about it.

Harbormaster: "Welcome to port Captain. How did you fare with those pesky off-shore pirates?"

Captain: "What pirates?"

They are just misunderstood people... all they want to do is redistribute wealth. Maybe they need to send their resumes to Capital Hill and work for Congress. That way they can hijack a country instead!

In the latest issue of the NRA magazine, "First Freedom", they
profiled an American merchant ship captain who was able to repel
a pirate attack on his ship.

He believes in armed resistance. Did he have a team of Barrett
or M60-wielding special forces? Did he have a dozen M-16 shootists?

No. He fired 2, count 'em two, 9MM rounds from his Browning Hi-Power
in the general direction of the pirates. They immediately ceased their
attack and found a pressing appointment elsewhere.

Oh, by the way, this armed captain resides in Massachusetts when he's
on land!!

So you're saying they're "community activists"? "rlol"

P.S. I like the flares idea. IIRC vessels are required to carry them, even in pro-criminal countries.

Am I missing something here? :headscratch I thought getting killed was an occupational hazard of pirates?
