Forum "signatures" - Ideas for mixing them up more often.
For the benefit of newer forum members who may not know how
to set up your "signature" line, which appears at the bottom of each
of your posts:
Go to the UCP (User Control Panel) / Select Profile / Select "Edit Signature".
Some folks have had the same signatures for eons.
Myself, I usually change it almost every time I log on to the forum.
Sometimes I use rock 'n roll lyrics, sometimes country music lyrics,
quotes from Texan musicians, and quotes from a wide variety of famous
people.
Here's my secret stash for all those quotes:
http://www.brainyquote.com/
This site is great. You can search by the person's name, or by the subject
of the quote. Just as you can spend a batch of time on the CHL Forum, you
may find this site a good place to spend time as well.
Since brainyquote contains such a large number of famous people's quotes,
and from ALL political persuasions, you are bound to find an interesting quote
with which to update your signatures.

I like my signature. Why would I want to change it?

To paraphrase Obama: If you already have a signature
you like, you may keep it. :-)
I was just trying to raise awareness on signatures
and provide a good resource for those who choose to
change theirs up.

Hey Surprise, thanks for the site, it is now in my favorites. I may want to add a little spice to my signature now and then. Just didn't know where to go get the spice.

Some of the English Spice Girls were
Baby Spice, Sporty Spice, and Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham, the scowler).
I guess we'll have to call you Glock Spice, if I recall your piece correctly. :-)

Re: Forum "signatures" - Ideas for mixing them up more often
Affixing (if you will) "internet bumper stickers" to posts strikes me as superfluous...
In fact, being the curmudgeon that I am, I find anything akin to this practice i.e., listing your gun inventory, your general philosophy, favorite quotes, photos or drawings as something rather, ah, odd...such personalizing with every post strikes me as a bit much...
Being something of a bulletin board ascetic, exercising the give and take of posting is wholly adequate in and of itself - for me.
Did I mention I'm a curmudgeon?

I have been using mine since the 80s, and see no reason to change it, it is concise, succinct, short and to the point, and says it all.The Annoyed Man wrote:I like my signature. Why would I want to change it?

I think it helps show the personality of each poster, which I regard as a good thing but maybe that's just me.Abraham wrote:Affixing (if you will) "internet bumper stickers" to posts strikes me as superfluous...

Hey SIA, you forgot Scary Spice. Don't ask me how I know...I have little sisters that were the right age when the spice girls were big.
