Well the first obvious change is to edit the 2nd Amendment:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
becomes ...

The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

And yes it should be written in neon green too. :thumbs2:

Whenever you have the word "Congress shall not", the phrase "or else" needs to be inserted directly afterwards. Consider a suitable punishment and build the punishment into the Constitution.

For example, "Any member voting to infringe on any of these enumerated rights will be subject to a fine of not less than $100,000 and imprisoned for not less than 10 years."

and instead of $100,000, as the value of money changes, 1/2 of their (combined household so they could not hide the money with their significant other))net worth for each offense, as most of these blow-hards would just get some lobbyist to the pay the fine of $100K. Hit them where it hurts, not only in the Prison Cell, but also truly in THEIR Wallets.

I actually would not like to see it re-written. There are not enough constitutional originalists in government. Any decision to re-write the Constitution would invite those who would like to see that pesky 2nd Amendment vanish to the table for a say in how the new document should be written.

I would MUCH rather burn out the jackals currently serving in Congress and return the nation to following the original Constitution as it is written.

Having proven unable to follow clear simple rules, the federal government is hereby disbanded.

Yes, I think a Chinese contractor could run it better. Let's sub it out to him.

I think the original document plus the BOR are good for eternity.
The problems are subsequent amendments plus bad SCOTUS decisions.
I'd suggest all subsequent amendments are deemed void pending re-passage.

Here are some good suggestions being discussed on the Volokh Conspiracy blog:

FEDERALISM RESTORATION AMENDMENT

Section 1. a) The legislative power of Congress shall not be construed to include mandating, regulating, prohibiting or taxing the private health insurance of any person;
b) nor shall the power of Congress to make all laws which are necessary and proper to regulate commerce among the several states be construed to include the power to mandate, regulate, prohibit or tax any activity that is confined within a single state and subject to the police power thereof, regardless of the activity’s economic effects outside the state, whether it employs instrumentalities therefrom, or whether its regulation or prohibition is part of a comprehensive federal regulatory scheme.

Section 2. Whenever two thirds of the Governors of the several States concur, they may rescind any law or regulation of the United States, or they may propose amendments to this Constitution, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States.
