handgun hangers and rifle rods?
handgun hangers and rifle rods?
I now have one too many guns to organize neatly in my safe, and I don't want to buy another safe just yet.
These look like they might be the solution to my problem.

Does anyone have an opinion on these?

I haven't tried those, but I recently bought two of these pistol racks from Cabelas. I bought the ones that hold 6 pistols each. That significantly tidied up my safe.

I think it's a great idea! Just ordered the six pack of pistol hangers. Thanks for the link

Here is a good previous thread on pistol racks including a neat homemade version by the forum Admin.

I use the rifle rods in my safe. They work well.

Here is my safe.

It has plenty of vertical space, but that shelf on top is less than 6 inches from the roof, and only 6.5 inches deep, or just big enough to accommodate an empty pistol rack.
I think I need something that will hang off either the door, or the underside of the shelf, to organize my handguns.
Right now, I'm wedging them between long guns, which makes the long guns want to fall over every time I reach for something.

Re: handgun hangers and rifle rods?
I made one like Charles's but I didn't like how it was all the way at the back of the shelf making the space in front unusable.Keith B wrote:Here is a good previous thread on pistol racks including a neat homemade version by the forum Admin.![]()

My safe has hooks built into the door from which I hang my handguns in pistol pouches.

Re: handgun hangers and rifle rods?
Mine seem to stack pretty well in the factory boxes

Looks like something the wife bought a while back to hold shoes in the closet.
Carry guns:
SIG P239 in 357sig
SIG P239 in 40sw
SIG P220
SIG GSR 1911
All with Crimson Trace Laser Grips

Re: handgun hangers and rifle rods?
I have the same problem, lots of items packed in a small safe.
The rods look like a good idea. Can one make those?
The other issue is how to keep them form scratching each other packed that tight.
As for pistols, all mine are mostly in the boxes, stacked on the (sagging) shelf.
Looks like most of you are storing them sans box, and storing the boxes elsewhere?
