Just on the chance you haven't heard this before, note that when loading for a gasgun like the M1, PORT PRESSURE is nearly as important as chamber pressure. Conventional wisdom is that an unmodified M1 should be loaded using powders
no slower than IMR 4320, and bullets
no heavier than 180 grains. (Some say 190.)
A bullet in the 150-175 grain range using powders like IMR 4895, IMR 4064, etc., with charges adjusted to duplicate USGI ballistics with equivalent bullet weights would be ideal.
