I need some assistance!

Post by MadMonkey »

..but it's easy :thumbs2:

One of my best friends lives down in Austin, and I drive down to visit every couple of months. On one of my previous visits, I helped him move to a new apartment and one of his other friends was assisting. Turns out he's a "sorta" gun guy, so we ended up talking guns for most of the time we were working.

Come to find out, a few months ago he lost his son to a car accident. A few months prior to that, his son (from DFW) had taken one of the father's rifles to a gun shop to get it worked on. Unfortunately, the father doesn't know WHICH shop, or the model of gun (like I said, he's not big into guns but he does own them).

This is the information I have:

The rifle is a 30-06 bolt action.

The father's name is Hugh Mason. The (now deceased) son's name was Adam Mason. The gun was left at a DFW area shop, but which one is unknown. It's been right about a year since it was dropped off for service, I believe. I don't know how long most shops will hold a gun before selling it (or if all of them do that), but I figure there's a chance that it's still floating around somewhere!

So I'd appreciate it if any of you would mention this to the employees of gun shops you frequent so we can see if the gun turns up. If it does, I'll call up the owner and get him to either pick it up or see if I can get it for him.

May be a long shot, but I wanted to see what would happen anyway!
