Shop Owner’s Wife Shoots At Would-Be Robber During Attempted Holdup

Authorities are looking for a vehicle connected to a robbery Friday morning at Fast Eddie’s Tire shop, located in the 1400 block of New Dallas Highway in Bellmead.

The shop owner, Edgar Llorens, told News 10 that around 9:30 a.m., as he was about to depart for the bank with the week’s deposits, three armed men entered the shop and demanded money.

Llorens said he gave the men money from the register, but then his wife emerged from the back of the shop with a weapon and shot one of the men in the leg.

The would-be robber dropped the bag of money and all three men fled the shop, but not before one of the men stole his cell phone, Llorens said.

The cash scattered ,but neighbors gathered it up.

Neighboring businesses contacted 911 and were able to give police a description of the vehicle.

A Texas Department of Public Safety dispatcher confirmed that police were looking for an older model car in connection with the robbery.

The car is red with a blue, driver’s side passenger door; the first three characters on the license plate are “K87.”

The vehicle was driven by man wearing a red shirt and occupied by another man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, the dispatcher said.

Overall it's not a bad outcome, but they need to work on their cash management and security policies. Also, kudos to the woman, but she needs to hit range more frequently.

This has "inside job" written all over it. Hopefully the police will figure out what's going on when someone shows up claiming to have been shot in a drive-by.
