Beaumont Area Instructor

Post by galvestonaggie »

Hay guys I'm new to the forum and I would like thank everyone for the great wealth of knowledge. Quick question for everyone:

My family and a few friends (4 people) would like to take the CHL course this weekend and I was wondering if anyone knew of someone good in the Beaumont area? Also are there instructors who are willing to come to your house and if so can you do the shooting qualification at your house as well (we have plenty of land east of town) or does it have to be done at a rage? Thanks again.

If you can wait, I'm taking my Instructor's certification class next week. Otherwise, go to the Golden Triangle Gun Club's website http://WWW.GTGCTX.ORG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and look at the list of instructors there. I know several of them and they are top notch.

I went to Lone Star Indoor Gun Range in Lumberton this past March. Very nice people, and they know their stuff. Nice place, too. $125 per person, everything included (even lunch).

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department offers a CHL class as well. $50 per person, everything except photos included. I did not go this route, but only because they do not always offer it, maybe only one a month, and then only in the evenings, usually split over a Tuesday and Wednesday evening. I have a night job that conflicts with this schedule, but I know people who have taken this class and it is highly recommended. You can check their CHL class schedule here: http://www.co.jefferson.tx.us/Sheriff/hr/Training.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Be aware that it is ONLY listed when they are offering it. The CHL class is not listed right now, but as soon as they schedule it, it will show up.

I think the Walmart Parking lot counts as an IDPA course.
