OK....so I've been reading through a number of these posts and have been reading and hearing stories of people whom DPS has sent back their application for the most minor of mistakes and errors.
Well...its got me starting to wonder....
When I was filling out the application, and reached the part concerning my previous employment; accordingly, I listed a retail store that I worked at about 2 years ago. Long story short, school and guiding got in the way and gave my "two-weeks" about 3 months into my employment. All this being said, I couldn't remember the exact months in which I worked there. So, I called the store, spoke to my old managers and asked them to pull up my file concerning my employment dates. As luck would have it, I came to find that they don't hold on to such records past one-year. They told me that corporate may have that info, but I could never get threw to the offices at corporate. So, I did all that I knew to do....think super, super hard about what months comprised that three-month period that I was employed at the sporting good store.
I gave my best shot, and I feel like my guess was pretty close. However, after reading these stories about the scrutiny under which DPS places these apps, I'm beginning to wonder if something so random will affect the wait-time on my plastic.
Thoughts, anyone??
Employment dates discrepancy???

Re: Employment dates discrepancy???
I hope it doesn't affect your application but don't know if it will or not. I'm an underwriter and if it was close enough I'd take it but that's just me and I don't work for DPS. if it does come back you might try getting a credit report as it should have that info on it. It's also possible that if it was a large enough store your history MIGHT be on theworknumber.com. There is usually a fee for both items but it's not too much.

I doubt it. DPS only wants to know the counties that you worked in during the past five years.I'm beginning to wonder if something so random will affect the wait-time on my plastic.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (Social Security) and the IRS know exactly when you got paid by whom, going back a long way. DPS probably cannot get access to this information without a warrant, but you can get it for the asking.

Re: Employment dates discrepancy???
It shouldn't, I had one employer listed with a gray area in regards to exact date of employment. I believe they mostly look at gaps (that's what my CHL instructor told me)... like you I was concerned about it, but recently my Background Check completed so all is good.
