TN: Child in critial condition after being shot with BB gun

In the Chattanooga, Tennessee, area Thursday, a 10-year-old girl was shot with a BB gun. A single projectile penetrated her eye and went into her brain. She is in critical condition.

Apparently the incident was a juvenile brain fart.

BB guns are not toys. They can be and sometimes are deadly to animals quite a bit larger than squirrels.

This is just the latest tradegy that could have been prevented. My dad trained all of his children in gun safety rules before we were allowed to shoot a BB gun.

I would hope that everyone who ever had a BB gun can remember their Momma's admonitions about putting an eye out.
