Crossbreed holster problem w/ M&P 9mm

Well I really like the holster I got a couple days ago from Crossbreed, it fits my Smith and Wesson M&P fullsize great. The only problem is, I cannot find a cant/ride height and body position that will be both comfortable and concealable. I've tried 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 all with varying cant settings. At 3, it is relatively comfortable but is visible from the front, as my t shirt rests on the rear sight and my right side bulges out. At 4 and 5, the muzzle of the gun is jammed into my butt and is very uncomfortable, and when sitting, the butt of the gun juts out and prints. Maybe it has something to do with my body type, I have a pretty small waist but I need to buy jeans a couple sizes bigger to fit my legs and hips (do a lot of squatting and deadlifting).

I'm thinking I may need to buy a Ruger, Kahr, Walther, or some other type of compact 9mm because concealing a fullsize for me is uncomfortable and/or prints too much. Maybe Crossbreed will give me a deal for sending the holster back and getting it fitted to a different gun, whenever I pick one up?

Any suggestions to make my carrying more comfortable, or suggestions on a compact 9mm would be great!!

I carry a Springfield XD9Sub Compact in a crossbreed. I carry about 3;30 and it is very VERY comfortable and hides great, even in a light Tshirt

I have the same problem as the OP. The grip of my G19 (w/ Crossbreed Supertuck) would stick out like a sore thumb whenever I sat down if I wore it between 3 and 4 o' clock positions. 5-5:30, the grip would follow the small of my back but that made sitting uncomfortable and the barrel/slide would stick straight down at the seat. My job involves either being seated in my office or light activity in the warehouse (climbing ladders, steps, reaching, lifting). Printing at work isn't a major concern for me because I wear a 1-size larger buttoned up work shirt (think Dickies), but the grip sticking out was a little awkward regardless.

I decided the G19 wasn't compatible with my daily routine so I went with a Kel-Tec PF-9 in a kholster (which I modified to resemble a CBST with a combat cut). I wear it at my 3 or 3:30 with no issues when I'm at work and it's small enough that I can conceal it with a t-shirt or polo on days where I want to go casual.

I carry a Sig P-250 compact 40 (13+1)in my supertuck at 3 o'clock.
I set it to ride at the most forward cant and then punched one additional hole in the forward top to give I some more can't.
The rear of the slide now rides just above my pants so printing of the slide is minimum and the cant is set at an angle that minimizes printing of the butt.
I carry like this in t-shirts with no problem.

I totally have the same problem. I just got a Comfort Carry from Concealed Technology (pictures) for my SR9c which is very similar to the Crossbreed.

Carrying at 3:00 creates a much bigger 'print' than 3:30 - 4:00. When I am at home 3:30 to 4:00 feels more comfortable. But, as soon as I go shopping with my wife, 3:30 - 4:00 really starts to bother my hip. So, when I am out and about, 3:00 is actually more comfortable. Plus, sitting in the car is much easier at 3:00. So 3:00 would be the way to go except that it prints more.

I have the same issue with how deep to set the clips. If I set the really deep where the rear sight is just above my belt, it barely prints at all. But it is not nearly as comfortable as when I set them fairly high.

Part of me wishes the clips could be 'quick changed' so that we could easily vary the position based upon what we are wearing.

I guess we just keep plugging away at it to find the best compromise.

I don't have a Crossbreed because I make my own hybrid holsters. However, here's how I determine how to set the clips, and this method may help you.

1. Remove the clips.
2. Insert the holster (with pistol) into your waistband and move it around until you have it at a comfortable cant and depth.
3. Sit down, stand up, squat, kneel... Do whatever to make sure that it is in a comfortable position and at a cant that allows you to draw easily.
4. (You may want to enlist help for this part.) Using a pencil, draw a very light line on the leather right along the top edge of your pants' waist band.
5. Now install the clips at whatever setting gets the top bend of the clips closest to the pencil marks you made.

Also, clipping off the extra, unused tail from the clips will do wonders for comfort.

These are great ideas.

I too just got a Crossbreed Supeertuck and am in the experimenting phase. I can carry both my G19 and G26 comfortably (the holster was made for the G19, but it fits the G26 fine). The only difference is that the G19 butt prints too much for me. I am 5 9, and 195 pounds, should be 170, so I have a bit of an expanded mid section. I find that maximizing the cant and carrying at 3:30 gives me the best comfort and concealability. For me, there is a huge difference between 3:30 and 4:00, especially when I bend forward.

I will try the pencil trick, and may also punch an extra hole or two if needed.
