Winchester 1873 manufactured in 1882......

Post by Salty1 »

Picked this up a while ago at an auction it is chambered in 44-40, ordered some black powder cartridges and put 5 rounds through it, sure smokes a bit but was surprised at the low recoil. Needs some cleaning up, not going to do any "restoration" to it, it is a nice example of firearm craftsmanship and do not want to de-value it.

Salty1, that looks a lot like a 5 figure gun. Based on what I see online, I'd say it's worth $12,000 or more.

It just needs a laser, muzzle brake, one-point sling, carbon fiber stock and forend, digital camo finish, picatinny rails all around the barrel, and ...

Ok, maybe not.

That is a beautiful rifle, and a real piece of history.
