Central Texas counties

Post by AR Traveler »

After lurking and reading the horror stories on this forum I decided to call DPS and get an update. I mailed my packet to DPS in mid August, got my PIN and faithfully checked the website on an hourly basis  I knew things weren't good when I got an "Ooohhhh..." after I gave them my DL#. Seems that the three counties I listed, Hays, Travis, and Williamson are "not the worst about returning back ground checks but are close". Translation: Not one of them has responded to the background check and they have had it for a while. Anybody else had similar experiences from these counties?
Thanks!

I live in Williamson and it took my application FOREVER to be completed, but they never blamed it on the background check. They blamed it on their own incompetence.

Welcome aboard AR. We may not be able to hurry the process any but we can make the wait more bearable. Glad to have you. Hope you get it soon.
