Fight at the Opera!!!

Post by olafpfj »

There was a fight in the uppper tier at tonights performance of the Dallas Opera.....
I didn't see it as I work backstage but all I can picture is two tuxedo wearing dandies throwing white gloves at each other and sniffing loudly alot.... :smilelol5:
I will have to check outside to see if proper notice of a challenge to a duel has been posted.
"Mr._______ is hereby proclaimed to be a scoundrel and drinker of cheap whiskey. I hereby challenge him to duel in defense of mine honour!!!"..... :fire

for the record the Winspear Opera House is 30.06 posted because why would you ever need to defend yourself during a night at the opera.... :headscratch

I have heard about the 30.06 posting at the Winspear, but I have not seen it. I have been there a few times, and have carried, because I have not seen the elusive sign. Not that I am an opera fan, mind you. There are lots of other events going on there. Last trip there was to see The Blue Man Group.

At any rate, since you work there, it would be kind of you to post a picture of the sign.

It's a shame when a gentleman can't even carry a sword cane to the opera.

I haven't performed at Jones Hall since March (a lot of reasons, including a death in the family and picking up a new class conflicting with rehearsal nights). However, last time we were there we still didn't see firearm signs of any type. To tell the truth, I'm not sure about the Wortham Center, as we didn't look last time we were there.

Actually, I haven't seen any sword-cane signs, either....

There is a sign at the backstage entrance that you can't miss and the only other one is at the main entrance but only next to one door.
The building isn't city owned but the land is so insert the usual you can/can't carry blah blah blah.... :deadhorse:
I'm pretty sure I can't carry because I work there and even if I could I wouldn't because it would just be highly impractical and in the way.

+1 on the cane sword.
the 2A says keep and bear "arms"...it doesn't specify firearms and I wish more attention would be brought to all the illegal laws regarding batons, knives, clubs, leaded canes, shuriken, etc... I would love to be able to carry one of those collapsible steel clubs the cops get to play with.....
