Food Court

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

There is a group who sponsors similar events across the country. Here is another

Some people may not be aware that the organ used in this performance is the largest operating pipe organ in the world. It is housed in the downtown Macy's store in Philadelphia (formerly Wanamakers). I had the opportunity to work in Philadelphia during several Christmas seasons and attended the noon organ concerts. None were like this video, however. It would have been an event of a lifetime to have been in attendance.

Wow! It would be wonderful to be at one of these "Random Acts of Culture"! That is one of my favorite pieces of music.

Thanks for posting the link to the performance ... brought a few tears of joy. I'll share it with my wife.

It had the same effect on me.

I had seen this one before and it was great. The one I posted was new to me. I enjoy both, and find them equally moving.
"event of a lifetime"..... I agree. Something you'd never forget.

I suspect that the advanced planning that went into these events was significant and probably involved the mall/store ownership from the outset. I cannot judge the Food Court situation but moving the 650 people who participated in the Macy's event into place was not something that happened without at least a dry run of some sort.

I'd love to see something like this happen in the Dallas area but it would take a lot of planning to pull it off. My wife and I participated in a Messiah sing along in Dallas last year and the work that the church put into that was incredible. You would think that just inviting a lot of people over to put on a concert in one day would be easy but it isn't. I cannot imagine how hard it would be to keep it a secret from the audience until it starts, too. It sure would be fun, though.
