Ten days from the time it shows mailed.

Post by bugsbunny45 »

Today after a 40 minute wait I spoke to somebody for 5 minutes. I had called to see how long from time the system shows mailed until I received my plastic.
The guy from the state said ten working days from the date they issued it.
Mines was issued on 01-31-2011 so my ten days will be up soon.

i'm thinking that when your status changes to "mailed" that doesn't necessarily mean it's in the hands of the USPS. probably just means they have your CHL in a box of "to-be-mailed" licenses.

That's the same excuse I give the IRS.

That was how long I waited. I suspect that "mailed" would more correctly be labeled "mailing pending".

The "Mailed" status is one of the things that peeves me in this world. I am not ranting at DPS, this is just an observation

When you send a check for your credit card, and it arrives at the bank mail room, it is not considered "received" until they open the envelope. Which means they can ding you for a late fee even though the item was received on time.

When TX DPS sets your status to "mailed" it means the item has been processed and is ready for mailing. Which could mean it is in an out basket of someones desk, in the mail room, in transit to the USPS or in your mailbox.

I really agree. Silly me I thought mailed means somebody stuck it in the mail not we thinking about putting it on the mail we thinking about putting it in the truck.
Mailed should mean its on the truck on the way.
