I found a good deal.....and passed

I stopped by a few pawn shops on my way home from work today with a HD shotgun in the back of my mind. I stumbled across a Mossberg 500A with an 18.5" barrel in good shape. It had a worn spot on the outside of the barrel, but the rest looked good. At $145, I thought it was a good deal. I was on board until he broke out the paperwork. I just didn't have the patience to deal with it so I walked. Is it just me?

I'll probably just wait for something to show up on a local forum.

That was my second choice when looking for my first shotgun after the Rem 870. I found a very nice 870 Express Magnum in like new condition for $190 out the door. Filing out the paper work doesnt bother me, if I had to wait for anything that would bother me.

I prefer the convenience of a paperless private sale, but the paperwork at a FFL doesn't bother me, either. It's more about the price and the deal... saving $40 is worth 15 minutes of filling out paper waiting for me.

Edit - Also, if I hadn't bought a 500 literally three weeks ago, I would be asking you where you saw the deal!
