Better a pistol than a dry eraser?

As a classroom teacher, I care about the safety of my students. As a newspaper columnist, I want to write about Texas House Bill 750, a measure allowing concealed carry of handguns on college campuses. As a state employee, I can get fired if I try to influence pending legislation.

So what I will try to do is present both sides of the issue as objectively as possible.


God forbid that the scene described in my third paragraph should ever come to pass, but if it does, I'd rather be holding a pistol than a dry eraser.
