Update

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Update

Post by longtooth »

I want to say another thank you to all that have prayed for me over the last 4.5 ys since finding out I had (past tense) cancer.
Health continues to improve. Semi-Retirement has helped strength recovery a lot. It's been a tough 4.5 yrs since my cancer surgery & knee repacement.
God our Great Physician led me past another strength marker the last few weeks. I started riding a real bike (borrowed from a Grandone) about a month ago. I am good for 3 miles now if the hills are not real steep. I have had to stop & walk only one.
Bought my own $25.00 garage sale bike last night. Tires held air all night. :woohoo I will get it clean & adjusted today. I think 1st ride will be to Mom's for lunch today. 3.5 miles. Hope I have desk work finished & bike ready by then.
Thank you Lord for feeling good & sleeping well.

LT, that is great news!

A word of advice for the bike ride, and I have learned this from my boss who rides his bike about 12 miles each way to/from work.
He used to blow 2-3 tubes a week due to road debris, so carry spare tubes and any tools you may need to change or repair the flat, including an air pump.

He now has kevlar tires and rarely has any blowouts, but when he does, he also uses an air cylinder (like those in air guns) to inflate the tube rather quickly as well.

Best of luck for your continued health improvement!

Yup!

Leaving home without at least two tubes and the tools needed to remove the tire(s) is just ASKING to walk home. Don't forget an inflation device.

Upgraded tires and tubes are pretty much "must have" items with all the road debris these days.

Amen.

Glad to hear you're doing well.

More great news, LT - may you continue to enjoy retirement in better and better health.

My wish for him as well (if we can keep his Arthritis under control).

He's a pretty tough old bird, I can tell you that!

He and Tom Estep are the kind that manage to "keep on ticking". :tiphat:

Thanks flint & for now it is doing much better. Getting the regular & real physical exersize has helped that a lot. Desk time is one of the worst things to feed authritis. Thankful I dont have NEAR as much of that now.
