Heard something funny on the radio

Post by Katygunnut »

Rush Limbaugh was remarking on reports that Obama had 3 AK-47's and 2 Pistols in his compound.

"This is the most dangerous terrorist in the world? That wouldn't even be considered a decent gun collection in Texas. If you told people that a Texan only had 3 AK-47's and 2 Pistols, they would be embarrassed."

Uuuhhhh, did you mean "OSAMa" instead of "OBAMa?"

Yeah, I've heard several newscasters make the same mistake. Obama and Osama are easy to interchange (accidentally)....since both names are widely recited.

I suppose we should start using the Usama pronunciation to help separate the two.

Anyway....whether its...Obama, Osama or Yo-mama, 3 rifles and 2 pistols are still a small collection of arms.

Now, can we substitute other semi-automatics for the AKs? If so, is it a one-for-one, or do we have to have some sort of a ratio? I just need to know what to tell the wife if I have to go on a gun-buying expedition...a self-respecting Texan MUST keep up appearances in regards to firearms, you know!

Wow, I can't believe that slip. Then again, Rush may well have said "Obama".

I think the minimum number of guns for any self-respecting Texan is at least 9. No real composition requirement, as long as you have at least one from each of the major categories:

Revolver
Semi-auto Handgun
Shotgun
Rifle

I had to look at the user name. I thought my husband might have posted this!

When I lived in California, a coworker I barely knew came up to me out of the blue and said, "You're from Texas? I bet you've got a bunch of guns, huh?"
Not admitting or denying anything, I asked "How many is a bunch?"
I went on to add that "Out here it may be considered a bunch but where I come from it's a pretty small collection."

I have two pistols, but I don't have any AK-47's... unless anyone cares to share with me ;-)

Sounds like I still have some work to do on my small collection. Need to add some long guns to my shopping list.
