How. That's quite a collection. I hope they catch the BGs and he gets his guns back. Do you have any details of how they broke into the safe?

I too am interested in details re the safe. I have a Ft. Knox safe and always felt my guns were OK. That was an irreplacible collection. I feel sorry for the guy.

Someone noted on a thread many months ago that a house
in Webster, Texas (near Houston and Friendswood) was broken into
and 68 firearms were stolen.

What a haul.

I have seen some articles warning about pictures being easily traced to the location they were taken. When you take pics of your guns with your phone, they can be traced to the exact location where they were taken (ie; your exact home address) Seems prudent to take precautions to either take pictures somewhere else but home or disable the GPS on your phone when you take them. All the BG has to do is cruise around the gun forum looking for pictures of guns he would like to have. Then, download and run them through an ID software.

What a shame. :grumble My condolences. Someone may have asked but, were they insured?

May be someone who knew the contents of the home. Make a list of those who knew; the detectives can't do that for you. Don't leave out the friends of relatives who could have know. You'll be able to cross off the ones you can totally trust and shorten the list. Don't stop pushing on the team who is investigating (squeaky wheel).

And BTW, you are a real Texan. Great collection.

This is indeed a great loss.
I hope he had a rider on his insurance policy that will cover the finacial loss if they are not recovered.
I too would like to know as many details of the make and model of gun safe and if was bolted down or not.
Also was this a tool attack(power saws, etc.) or a pry attack or brute force to the side wall attack?
What I have seen to be the case more times than not of gun safes that are breached is they are usually lower tier models such as the ones that have 12 gauge bodies with those infamous sheetrock wrapped with 12 gauge steel composite doors.
This poor guy.
