Shame on Dallas and Dallas PD!!
What a low class thing to do and what a horrible lesson to teach our young kids. The COP can take his patronizing statement and shove it. $2,000 doesn't mean squat to the City of Dallas, but it would mean a lot to a family of 7 living in a one bedroom apartment.
I hope people in Dallas remember this the next time they get a call from someone soliciting donations.

What a bunch of crooks. Dallas police teach you to not be honest. NICE!

This link worked better for me...

So.. What lessons were learned here? What did Dallas teach it's kids?
By what percentage did the likelihood of the next "found property" being turned in decrease?
Shame, shame...

Thats just sad. At least the teen did the right thing, we could use a lot more people like her in this world.

A teen with $2000? I'm surprised that they didn't arrest and charge her for Suspicion Of Selling Drugs.
Wayyyy back when I was in Junior High, I found $100 bill on the ground in the hallway. I was ecstatic! But, my morals told me to do the right thing... so I turned it to my assistant principle who said school policy was to wait 3-weeks for someone to claim it, otherwise I could pick it up. 3 weeks later, no one claimed it so I asked to keep it and he said no. I told my parents and they said to politely inform my Asst. Principle of the school policy he stated. He said no, again. My parents called and the next day, he told me he would have the school district mail me a check, I should get it in a few weeks.
Parents called one more time and I had a shiny new $100 bill the next day!

Is there any interest in taking up a collection to send to this girl? If so, I just want people to donate $1, not more, just $1. That way it won't hurt anyone but more importantly, at $1 a person, it will show her how many people respect her for being honest.

a few years ago:
One of the DPD officers was killed in the middle of his shift, the bean counters billed the widow for the hours 'not worked'. .. The other officers passed the hat and payed it.
There was a TV program called Laugh In which awarded their weekly "Fickle Finger Award" to the bean counters on national TV.
DPD has a long history ...still.

Unfortunettly they destroyed her trust in police, and next time I doubt she will do the right thing.

I'm good with that idea, although I would have a hard time stopping at a $1.Charles L. Cotton wrote:Is there any interest in taking up a collection to send to this girl? I say we have a call to action go out with the email and phone numbers of the pertinent players in the city of Dallas and see if we can create enough stink to get this young lady her money back.
What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?

Perhaps an account could be opened that has branches all over Texas to make the donations, I know I'm on board.Charles L.
