My thanks to the forum re: concealed carry
First, I would like to thank the members of this forum who have supplied so much information here. Reading late into the night, I have seen many great suggestions on firearms, concealment, types of holsters, ammunition, finer points of the laws, and even clothing suggestions. My carry pistols were bought from members here as were my holsters.
All these things have come together to allow me to calmly and peacefully start carrying a full 1911 double-stack with good concealment, something which I was doubtful of at first. I usually wear dress clothes daily and must wear a dress shirt tucked. After much reading, I bought a supertuck combat carry here from a member and today used suggestions of slightly loosening the shirt tuck and trusting other's lack of observation. I am amazed that it worked. The double-stack is big and heavy with a slight tug at the belt, but the IWB holster allowed me to tuck the shirt with the holster at the 3:30 position. I could even reach above my shoulders without anyone being disturbed.
I used a short sleeve casual dress shirt, light olive in color, along with normal slightly faded blue jeans. My BUG was in my front jeans pocket since I carry a new gun unloaded, when I try it or a new holster, until I am comfortable with the combination. I trust my BUG for the few days it takes to adjust to the new items.
Please excuse this wordy post, but I did think I should thank those who have cared enough to post over the years. Their efforts have not been wasted, and their advice has greatly helped me to reach this point of comfortable concealed carry.

Re: Amazing! Thanks For IWB and Concealment Info.
Humbly, we are a kind and helpful bunch. It seems there might actually be something to the "an armed society is a polite society" saying. I too, am very appreciative of all here and the existence of this forum.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Even a touch of humor can contain wisdom. We each have our own style. I have noted yours and have come to appreciate it.03Lightningrocks wrote:Glad I could be of help to you Dave. Be sure and let me know if I can learn ya any further.
