Easy renewal

Post by tomneal »

January, I noticed that my CHL expires in the fall.

04/28/11 - Signed on to DPS web site and applied for renewal. Paid with CC.
4/28/11 until 5/20/11 - I was procrastinating on sending in paper work
5/21/11 - logged into DPS web site. They were making my card.
5/23/11 - Status changed to 'mailed'
5/27/11 - Plastic in hand

Entire renewal was done online. No additional paperwork. No class, no tests, no finger prints, no photo.
I've had my CHL since the 1st year it was available.
See you at the range
NRA Life, TSRA Life, USPSA Life, Mensa (not worth $50 per year so it's expired)

Hi tomneal,
I'm still waiting on my first one so I'm still new at this but ....
What paperwork would you normally have mailed in for the renewal since they had your photos and fingerprint info....
Also do they notify you when a renewal is coming up?
Just wondering..
I guess it's a good thing you didn't mail anything in or it might have taken longer... :???:

There is a list but off the top of my head.
On your first renewal,
photos, prints, proof of a CHL class, a paper test, and a shooting test.
See you at the range
