Different that's for sure!

14 rounds sounds good, but what is the reload speed?

Here's a review:

It looks cool and is unique, but I don't know what the heck I would use it for or need it for.

zombies...duh. Long has the primary issue with a 12ga during a zombie invasion been the low ammo capacity. This gun solves that.

In all seriousness, I don't shoot trap or skeet and don't do any SG hunting, but I would love one of these for home defense.

Thats really the only benefit I see from it. it's small so it can maneuver in hallways and around corners. It could be used in tactical situations too. I think it's a nice idea but it sounds like there are a few things to be worked out still, like switching between the the mag tubes.

I figure a .22 is better for zombies. Just takes one to the brain. Can carry more ammo. And like someone said, what is the reload time. Lately the zombies seem to move faster.

True enough...

And in answer to the above comment about the magazine tube switching. When Nutnfancy reviewed it they had a representative there with him and he asked about the mag switching and why it wasn't automatic. The answer was that they wanted to be able to sell it in some of the communist states like California where they have limits on the number of rounds you can have in each magazine. Making it an automatic switch would in essence make it one magazine with 14 rounds in it(illegal in kommifornia) so they made it a manual switch.

Really the only issue I see with the switch is having to keep up with how many rounds you've fired so you know when to switch. I figure you could just load one of those fiocchi chemical tracers as the last round in each mag so you know when to switch.

I have also been excited about the ksg. I think it would be perfect for home defense with the bullpup design. While I hope I would never need to use 15 rounds in a home invasion situation it's better to have it and not need it than the other way around.

I am kind of confused about the release date. It seems like it would be released in the fall but some websites claim to be selling them for about 650. Is this just a preorder or have they already released a batch?

This definitely is a heavy duty looker, like something that Hollywood armorers would come up with for some
post-apocalyptic future in which everyone has to fight with these to get their daily bread.

What is the item with the teeth on top of the barrel?

The rails? They're for mounting your NVD-compatible optics and NVD, plus BUIS.
The 1000 lumen weapon light and the IR & visible lasers go on the bottom rails. ;-)

Sorry to be thick, but is NVD = Night Vision Device?

And BUIS - clue me and others in on what this acronym represents. I haven't a clue.

BUIS = Back-Up Iron Sights (and you're spot-on with NVD)

Saiga would be the best shotgun for zombies (although I consider a semiauto rifle to be best for that use), although the KSG is less likely to encounter legal issues being a domestically produced tube-fed pump gun rather than an imported semiauto with detachable mags.

I think the KSG looks interesting, and Kel-Tec is one of the few gun companies truly innovating these days. That said, they have had issues with production delays with some of the guns they have introduced in recent years (RFB, PMR-30), so I'm not holding my breath on seeing a KSG in person any time soon.
