I am considering pursuing a CHL Instructor Certificate. One of the required forms to turn in is a CHL-90 - Instructor Certification Application. Question 1 asks if you have completed a handgun instructor training course and question 2 asks for a list of courses completed.
My question is, do you need some pre-requisite instructor courese completed before DPS will consider your application?

Re: Question about required form for CHL Instructor Applicat
Quick and uninformed answer is, no. If you do have verifiable instructor training certifications (e.g., NRA instructor, LEO trainer) you may be eligible to take the CHL instructor’s short course. If you don’t have trainer certs, you simply take the full course.
