My turn to wait

My wife and I got our class knocked out this past Saturday (still peeved about shooting a 248, being the perfectionist that I am) and got all the paperwork together and in the mail this morning. I had a last minute question regarding how to submit some additional documentation to hopefully avoid delays in the processing. I am glad to report that the people at DPS were helpful in answering my questions quickly.

Now begins the dreaded wait. Obviously, this is more painful for me than it is for her

It seems like they are turning these things out overnight anymore...as long as they have not seen your picture on the evening news in the last few days, they print it out and mail it.

Yeah, irritates me how fast they are doing it now...but the people a few years ago had it a lot worse.

Check the DPS website everyday, ya know you will

Haha so true. I have been on DPS and this forum multiple times a day. Still waiting on them to finish my background check.

Well, mine showed background check pending as of mid last week. My wife's on the other hand didn't even show recieved until this morning.

Now I just have to convince myself to quit checking so often

At least I now have both our DL and SS #'s permanently memorized!

You say that, but you'll still check. And yeah I won't be forgetting my DL or SS anytime soon either.

One day you'll type in his social and your dl # and that person will have already got their plastic
that is when you call your representative.

Nah it just tells me that person is not in the system....mostly I mix up our birthdays cuz we're 3 days apart.

Well, mailed both apps for my wife and I on 7/4... hers didn't show up as recieved until 7/11. As of this morning 7/14 she is now manufacturing pending

I on the other hand, still Background check review

The mail system has not improved as much as the DPS system seems to have. It may well be Tuesday or Wednesday before you get it...just warning ya
