help with chl checklist please
Hello, I have finished my CHL class this week, but my checklist is asking for the CHL-90 for instructors. Tx DPS.com and my checklist says nothing about it being an instructor license, but it just says CHL. I am asking: does anyone know if I accidentally applied for the instructor license; and if I can just send in all my info, exclude the CHL-90 form and still get the license? If so, will the class still count, or will I have to retake it? Also, if i did apply for the instructor license will they swich the application to the normal CHL with a price difference?

Re: help with chl checklist please
How much was the application fee? Instructor license is $100. CHL, with no discounts, is $140. That should tell you which you applied for.
If you accidentally applied for the instructor license, then you should call up DPS and see if they can change it for you.

Unfortunately, I don't have the receipt in my emails, but my bank says 200$ so I cleary added something else...Oops, but I also can't check anything until online at DPS cause it says my status is waiting for papers and I also have to wait til Monday for DPS to open.
Thanks though.

They don't work on Fridays anymore?
Has it been so long since Crossfire did the original instructor class that we forgot it was $200? This getting old thing really sucks.

Original instructor is either $50 or $100, depending on if it's an odd or even year.Crossfire wrote:Has it been so long since Crossfire did the original instructor class that we forgot it was $200? This getting old thing really sucks.
Re: help with chl checklist please
I got the problem fixed..I did happen to buy CHL with the instructor application too. This is for other people also.. DPS told me to write a letter along with all the checklist materials that i send in.The letter saying "I want to void out my instructor license and get a refund for it." Not those exact words.. Just something along those lines of saying you meant just to have the CHL and not the instrucot course and you want a refund for the instructor, but keep CHL...Be specific beauce if you are not they might void out the CHL as well.

Re: help with chl checklist please
A little background....
I took the CHL course over the weekend, was given the packet from the instructor with Certificate of Training Form, Original Application Form, Knowledge of Law and Eligibility Affidavit, Authorization for Release of Records Affidavit, and two Photo Holder/ID Signature Forms.
When I tried to schedule my fingerprints over the phone through L-1 Identity Solution - FAST, I was told that I needed to register/apply for CHL online with Texas DPS first and use the link provided on the DPS web site. Which actually works and I did....
My question is: Does anyone know if I need to fill out and submit Original Application Form, Knowledge of Law and Eligibility Affidavit, Authorization for Release of Records that was provided in the packet?
While online I filled out all the info for the online CHL Application and both Affidavits, The confirmation email I received with the Barcode CHL Application checklist does NOT have them listed.
Thanks

You only have to send those items listed on the checklist. The rest, as you indicated, is what you did online.JMartin wrote:A little background....
