Am I ready to send?

Post by knotquiteawake »

I have a large manila envelope and inside are:
- CHL Checklist with the barcode
- Envelope with my signed photos
- Photo Holder / ID Signature Page (CHL-6)
- Certificate of Training Form (CHL-100)

All of them are signed and fully completed.
My fingerprints were taken and submitted yesterday.

Thats all of it right?

What should I put on the outside of the large envelope? My plan is to send it via fedex in a fedex envelope so I can track it.
Should I just put the Texas Department of Public Safety address on both?

Any other tips? I'm going to pack it all up and take it to fedex after work today and get it going.

Some tips Pawpaw gave me:

1) Write the barcode # at the top of each page & on the envelope you put your photos in. This way, if a DPS agent processing your app knocks the papers onto the floor they'll have an easier time finding & matching all of yours.
2) If you want to verify delivery, make sure to get Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested

I don't know if these actually helped any, but mine took 25 days from mailbox to mailbox. :tiphat:

Uh oh....I may have missed something? I applied online, took the class, got fingerprinted and mailed all the stuff off to them as previously mentioned in above post, per the DPS checklist on the bar code form. However, I did not sign the actual photos...they were taken by the CHL course provider and given to us. I sent the signed photo holder, but wasn't aware at any point that the actual photos needed to be signed themselves? Did I understand that correctly?

Photos do not need to be signed, but they should be placed in an envelope with your name on and the words "photos enclosed".
