Greetings.
Application in Oct. 20th (mailed)
Rec'd by DPS on Oct. 23rd
PIN received Nov. 21st (date of letter)
Question on Application number though.
I am a "returning" CHLer as I had my CHL from about day 1 - but moved out of state for a few years and let it expire (prior to non-resident approach).
It appears that the application number shown on the PIN letter from DPS has my "old" CHL number? It is NOT the application number from my current application.
Does everyone elses App. # shown on the PIN document match your package app. #?
Thanks
Application # on PIN document?

Welcome 7GenTex. I'm fairly new here myself.
I used to be an instructor and unfortunately let my license expire a few years ago. My instructor in the class I just took said to mark through the number on my forms and write my "old" license number above it. Apparently once you're issued a number from Austin, that's the number you keep.
I'm sure a current instructor will be along shortly to either confirm or deny this.

Processing, processing, processing........
Just an update:
DPS said that once you have a CHL # - that will be your CHL # number, regardless. I let mine expire when I moved out of state for a few years (never again on either!). When I reapplied, DPS reassigned my old CHL # as my application number. Same with my wife.
BTW - my wife's packet when in the same date as mine - she has not received a PIN yet, but DPS said her was processing as well.
