Yesterday afternoon, while returning from the range portion of a CHL class I was teaching, I turned my eyes off the road to make sure I had my clear glasses. I had put my Rx sunglasses on at the range and couldn't remember if they were in the truck or if I had left them on the bench at the range. Well Mr. Murphy, always vigilant that he is, used that moment to have a 10 foot deep drainage ditch jump out in front of my truck.
The truck is DRT

lying at a 45 degree angle on the driver's side and I'm stuck in it [:u] - - - I can't get the doors to open. Finally, I get the passenger side window to roll down and climb out with the help of a couple of Good Samaritans that stopped.
A wrecker pulled the now lifeless '95 Dakota

from the ditch and the responding officer told me to go get myself checked out and file the necessary papers with DPS next week.
Nothing broken, lots of bruises and soreness this morning. The ER doc gave me some really good pain meds and I'm feeling no pain.
Just a reminder that no matter what you are doing Murphy is looking for a chance to jump in.
edit: Melissa, my associate, finished the classroom work - - - This was her first time teaching since the birth of her twins 3 months ago.
