Time frame to get response after paying online

Post by packinmama »

I just applied and paid online to get my CHL instructor's license. How long does it usually take to get a response from Austin with a class date once you have done this? Is it a matter of days or weeks?

Thanks in advance!

It could be quite a while. I have heard that the October classes are already filled, so soonest you would get in is November. If they have a November class.

There seems to be quite a wait to actually get assigned to a class.

The last instructor class was the first week of this month (October 2011). I submitted my registered & paid online on 9-29-11 and had my fingerprints done on 10-6-11. Everything was mailed on 10-8-11. I got an email from the DPS Firearms Training Unit yesterday saying that the January instructor's class was already filled and no firm date for anything after that one. They are looking at the following class to be sometime in April or May of 2012 but no date is set.

Now I can be as patient as the next guy but shouldn't this be taking less than six months to get scheduled for the class??? :confused5
