Time To Renew

Post by tallmike »

Its time for my first Texas CHL renewal, so I need a good instructor. Can anyone recommend a good/great instructor in the Central Texas area? Preferably one with good schedules and great prices. =) I am in Hays County, between Austin and San Antonio.

If they are also a member here, that would be a plus.

Thanks =)

Don't know first hand but I have heard good things about Mike Cox - http://www.DriftwoodCHL.com.If" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; this does not work pm me and I will give you an email address for another one in Wimberley who is suppose to be good. I will use one of these two for my next renewal in 6 months or so.

Realtor-
Thank you, but Cedar Park is quite a haul. I wish you were closer.

Stash-
Thank you for that link!! Its a crazy small world because I was out fighting a grass fire last week and the instructor Mike on that page you sent me was out there as a volunteer for Wimberley FD. He rode on my truck with me since he arrived at the same time we did, really nice guy. I had no idea he was a CHL Instructor, but I recognized his picture on there. Thats perfect.

Thanks to both of you for the help =)

Yep - sure is a small world. Glad it worked out for you. Let me know how it goes if you get a chance. I will use him early next year for my next renewal. He is close to me also. Last time I had to go into Austin - this will be lot closer. If you can find one, last months TSRA magazine had a nice writ-up on him.

A-R - was not trying to take any business away from you, just thought this would be closer for tallmike.

Just a follow up:

I took the class with Mike this weekend and it was great. He is a very knowledgeable instructor. I was honestly impressed by how well he knew the laws.

Also, it was very reasonable priced and (for me) really close to home. =)
