'Act of Valor'

Post by erick619 »

Hopefully this is the right place?

This movie looks like it's going to be awesome! I've never seen the "catch a body before it makes a splash" before. lol

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

Wow, that looks like an awesome movie. And catching the body seems to make more sense than it falling in and making a huge splash that the bad guys never seem to notice.

Looks cool. Due to be released in February next year.

My son showed me the trailer for this movie a few days ago. It looks pretty cool. I hope they didn't put the only good parts in the trailer and the rest of it sucks.

Saw it yesterday.

My new quote:

"There is nothing like the sound of a mini gun in the movie theater."

I thought it was great. Yes, some of the critics were right about some parts, but all in all it was a must see.

yeah, I really liked it. Not my very favorite movie ever, but it was pretty cool. I was mostly interested in A) the way they worked so well together as a team in battle, and B) the way they stood by one another in peace. However, my very favorite part—and the one part that really got me misty-eyed—was when they read the letter with Tecumseh's speech in it:
So live your life so the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their views, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or sign of salute when meeting or passing a stranger if in a lonely place. Show respect to all people, but grovel to none. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself. Touch not the poisonous firewater that makes wise ones turn to fools and robs them of their visions. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.
Good Lord, you just can't say "the speech that every boy becoming a man needs to hear" any better than that.

Very good movie, indeed. One of the things I miss the most from my time in the military is the camaraderie and the friendships that are built in war. Act of Valor reminded me of this fact. :patriot:
