DPS IT dept. and electronic fingerprints???

Post by flechero »

My wife sent in her packet several months ago. There was an issue with the electronic fingerprints not being received. After many hours of legwork on her part trying to contact the fingerprint place (which is no longer there) and DPS, it was determined by DPS that their own IT dept was the issue. Now keep in mind that the other in her class (friends) got their plastic in about 2-3 weeks, and my wife is over 3 months into this and no plastic. DPS said not to redo fingerprints as the problem is on their end. So my question is how long must we wait for them to correct or call no joy on this. I would gladly pay another $15 to have her get prints redone, but that option is not being allowed.

Has anyone ever heard of a case like this? They have assured her that her packet is in order and all looks fine, but they can't process it until they straighten out the IT issue with prints.

Help??

While I have not done this myself and therefore cannot speak from personal experience, other forum members seem to have gotten relief (DPS nudged in the right direction) by contacting their state representatives and/or the governor's office. Might be worth the call or email.
