Zombie shooting

Post by canvasbck »

Monday night at the Arms Room, we substituted a zombie shoot for our regular IDPA fun match. I have to say that while I wouldn't want to do zombie shoots too often (you could easily develop some bad habits for IDPA), it was an absolute BLAST! These are a good way to break up your regular IDPA or USPSA fun matches with something different.

The scoring is super simple, but the penalties are brutal.
1. There are three types of targets; zombies, infecteds, and non-threats (aka meals)
2. Zombies are neutralized with one shot to the head. Infecteds are neutralized with three shots anywhere on the target, two of which must
be to the center mass (either torso or head)
3. Failing to neutralize a zombie (still walking) is a 5 second penalty, failing to neutralize an infected (walker created) is a 10 second penalty, a hit on a
meal is a 10 second penalty.

Concealment is not required, you can shoot in either the 8,10,or 17 round magazine division. Reloads can happen anyplace and anytime that you choose. Cover does not have to be utilized. Targets can be shot in any order unless specified otherwise in the course of fire.

Yes that was really a good change of pace. Also like you said some bad habits(for idpa rules) could be formed if shot on a regular basis.

What makes it even better is I won the ZK Stacker(CDP) division :woohoo Those Zombies better watch out if I have my 1911 :
If guns kill people, then pencils misspell words.
