Old convictions?

Post by Ruark »

Is the "Background Check Under Review" slowed down any by having prior convictions? I have a couple of little PI overnight-in-jail stints from my younger (and wilder) years - almost 40 years ago - and I was wondering if it will take them additional time to dig them up since they're so old. (I know, grasping at straws...)

...it's possible, but it's not unusual for the reporting status to hang on that for awhile....if they found something you didn't list, they may take a bit longer...ain't NO time passes as slowly as waitin'-for-my-plastic time...not waitin' for Christmas, not while-she-delivers time...no other time passes so slowly...but it's mighty sweet when it's over!!!

If you disclosed the arrests and included paperwork for the dispositions it shouldn't slow it down at all.

If I did not disclose a prior from say 1987era for a misdemeanor, will that kill your chance of clearing the background check? I think i got trigger happy when completing the app online. I could not find any info by a identity check service online nor remember exact dates so i submitted without disclosing on App.
