Galco TR 424

Post by Seabear »

I just picked this holster up at my favorite LGS for my Kimber UCII. I have an King Tuk for it also, however I wanted something that would be fast to put on or take off at the boat ramp when I am guiding. After playing with this holster for a few days I have found that as an IWB it is not as comfortable as the KING Tuk sitting, but is decent walking or standing. Then I decided to try putting the holster between my belt and jeans, YAY! It is perfect for really quick on and off, VERY comfortable in this spot as well. Obviously it will not be as concealable as a completely IWB, however it it rides just as snug and in tight due to the belt being outside the holster. The holster itself is very slim and has a great fit.

Here is a comercial link to it, I will post a pic with the carry method I am talking about shortly.

OK here it is . Shirt put behind it , obviously not the way I carry it. :coolgleamA:

Not quite sure why my pic seems more "plump" than the proffessional catalog pic. Must have been a child in that one. LOL :headscratch

You're picture demonstrates that you have the same problem I have and the fix was to go exclusively to cargo style pants.

No matter IWB or OWB, the bottom of the pistol covers my rear pocket making storing my wallet there very difficult. I only wear jeans now when everything else is dirty.

Even the bulge made from the IWB makes getting in and out of that rear pocket almost impossible.

I have a Secretary wallet and I can see that just getting in the way. Sometimes my OWB for my 238 gets in the way and boy is it frustrating at times. :mad5

Looks like if you had bought a "Lefty" version it would fit great on the right side as a OWB clip-on.

I hear ya. It doesn't bother me too much, and it depends on the brand of jeans and where that belt loop is. My wife doesn't care for the cargo pants, so jeans and kahkis it is. If I am going shopping I normally end up putting the wallet in my front pocket. I guess I could go to the left rear pocket, but that's just weird. LOL

It probably would, however it wouldn't get pulled in tight and might have a tendency to flop around. How about you try it and let us know. LOL I would, but the shop doesn't have one and I don't want to order it. :biggrinjester:

I might though because I agree with you it would be the next best thing. I am sure it would be better than any of the kydex paddle holsters I have seen. It is very slim.

Wore it all day today and I REALLY like it placed between the belt and my jeans. I have even practiced taking it on and off.

Taking it off is a snap, very easy to remove the whole rig with pistol in place. Which is what I will do on days I am on the boat.

To put it back on, I loosen my belt one notch, and put a finger in the spot where the holster will go, and pull out the slack. Then take the holster, with or without the gun in place and slide in the gap provided. It works best if I put the tip of my index finger on the tip of the holster to guide it into the spot. Hard to describe, but it has become very easy to me.
