Plastic Mailed but taking long to receive

Post by Secter »

Hey guys, my status updated to "mailed" on 01/11/2012, however, I still have not actually received my plastic yet. When I sent my packet in, it only took 3 days to get there. Seems odd it has been a week since the mailed status and I still do not have my plastic. I'm curious if others have dealt with this type of issue. My work days seem so long due to the anticipation of hoping my plastic will be in the mailbox when I get home :)

mailed, does not mean dropped at the post office, it means it was "OK to be mailed"
I have seen cases of "mailed" and received next day, and others "mailed" and received 7+ days later.

Patience is needed, the process is 99% over :)

If that's the case, I think they need a new status then:

Maybe they should have two statuses.
* Everything received.
* Missing __________

That would reduce a lot of the questions they get so they can process the applications instead of answering the phones. :biggrinjester:

I think it took 11 or 12 days to get mine after it said mailed and I am only 70 miles from Austin. It was postmarked the day it changed to mailed but there is something about the Cibolo PO that slows down official looking envelopes from the State!

I believe they actually mail in 'batches' that may go out on Fridays. I assume yours didn't hit the PO until 2 or 3 days after it showed 'mailed'. Therefore, I'm going to go out on a limb and say when you get home from work tomorrow, you'll have a nice, plain white envelope sitting in your mailbox... This has worked before, so I'll push my luck and try again. If it doesn't show tomorrow, I'll deny ever writing this response. :mrgreen:

And welcome to the Forum, Secter!

Then there's "Four Austin post offices U.S. Postal Service closing"

Just kidding, nothing like "the wait" ;-)

Years ago, before the process was sped up ... Mine only took 6 months or so but it felt like 9 :lol:
