Assault rifle kills 9-month-old

Post by VoiceofReason »

Ran across this on www.cnn.com-- CNN-JUSTICE-Central-Assault rifle kills 9-month-old WDIV :mad5 :mad5 :mad5

I guess I didn’t post this right.

If you go to http://www.cnn.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, click on the “Justice” tab at the top then look at “Central” you will find the headline "Assault rifle kills 9-month-old".

They made it sound as if the “assault rifle" killed the child by itself.

Wait....... I'm not clear on something...... Did the "assault" rifle kill the baby, or did the murderer firing it kill the baby?

Looks like they never miss an opportunity. :mad5

Like you TAM, I wonder if they are going to arrest and handcuff the “assault rifle”. "rlol"

Looks like they've changed the headline.

Detroit Police Homicide had been working the case since early Monday morning. Police say they know who they are looking for but people who know who is responsible will not speak.
:mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5

This is a huge problem. How in the world has a culture developed where it is considered worse to "snitch" on a murderer than to be one?

Um, "Mafia" comes to mind.

I understand people being afraid and I know that even as a cultural thing it isn't exactly new but it is much more mainstream now.

Besides, I didn't put a timeframe on it. :biggrinjester:

Good answer, though.

No, its not simply about folks being afraid to talk to law enforcement. Its about the way law enforcement has been made into the enemy and the bad guys in the gangs are somehow "heroes" in those neighborhoods, despite all the killing, drug dealing and other nefarious activities they are involved in...a person who talks to law enforcement is a "sell out". Its hard to explain, but its different than simply not speaking out against organized crime in the "old days". Its like turning in a murderer is somehow worse than the murder that gang-banger committed.

I should have phrased it better but that was my point. We are on the same page here. :tiphat:
