Legal 30.06 sign?

my concern is that it does not meet all the following criteria:

Penal Code Section 30.06(c)(3)(B) further states that a sign must meet the following requirements:

includes the language described by Paragraph (A) in both English and Spanish;
appears in contrasting colors with block letters at least one inch in height; and
is displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public.

Technically no. Question on the bottom it says campus. Is this a college campus?

The sign is not illegal nor is it a valid 30.06 posting. However, it does not look to me, to be legally enforceable.

It doesn't technically meet the requirements but I assume that wouldn't stop a hospital supervisor from calling the cops and telling them you have a weapon on you if they found out. Is it posted like this at all doors? What about the main? Also, I assume you already know but most hospitals have a no gun policy for employees which has no legal bearing but grounds for termination.

Charles might be able to help on this one but I wouldn’t inform them that it is non compliant if you decided to carry. They will likely change it to be compliant.

I'm not certain because of the glare, but I also think it refers to the old Vernon Code, which makes the text incorrect. So, size and contrasting elements aside, it should not get you into any real trouble with the law. It could still get you fired if discovered.

I don't plan on carrying while at work. I just thought it was a bit fishy. I see how it could easily be missed by visitors, or even easily disputed if anyone got "caught."

And yes, it's posted like this at all entrances.

I have a friend who has a similar situation except it is not a hospital. Incorrectly posted but against company policy and the supervisor is anti-gun. He carries a kel-tec p32 and it is deep concealment. Only way you could possibly see it is if he took off his pants. He made a custom holster that is like a smart carry but just big enough for the p32.

Hmm, the text certainly does not match that listed by TxDPS on their website:

Ignorant employers and possibly even more ignorant lawyers advising the employer. I have, however, wondered if it could be a sly lawyer advising employers like this to post an obsolete sign to keep law abiding CHL holders from any real trouble.

However, whatever you do, please do not inform anyone that could or would inform the employer of their incorrect sign. For us non-employees, we will continue to carry there because we are not worried about being fired by them.

Does this hospital have an ER or is it one of those clinics? I live in Spring and I almost want to PM you to ask in case I ever have to take a family member so I don't have to disarm.

So to be certain, because the signs use the old text, that means any non-employee can carry without legal consequence? What if the cops arrive anyway? All the citizen has to do is show that the sign is incorrect?

This is in a decidedly gun-friendly part of town.
