best quote (in video he said ... "and if they are loaded"
"It made me think twice about how many guns I had in the house," said Burnet homeowner Dino Maisano

Emergency Notification System Cellular Telephone Interface
Emergency Notification System Registration
Citizens are now able to register their cellphones with the CAPCOG Emergency Notification System to be alerted of emergencies involving one or more physical addresses in the CAPCOG region, including Burnet County. To register for the service, visit the CAPCOG website.
(Of course I was armed with a Glock 19 with 41 rounds of 9mm
*including spare mag*, plus 2 backup guns 9mm with 13 rounds and 8 rounds... but I'd like to know about stuff, but found this out at 10 am after running my niece to school, glad I didn't let her ride her bike this morning )
An emergency notification via telephone went out at 8 a.m. Monday through the Burnet County system to alert residents in the area of the escape, but some neighbors in the area said they are concerned it took more than nine hours for the alert to go out.
Actually, No one I know was notified
3:50 a.m. Sheriff W.T. Smith was notified by the warden of the private-public Burnet County Jail, 900 County Lane, that "an inmate was unaccounted for and believed to have escaped from custody."

However, several residents reported they did not receive the so-called "reverse 911" call until after Ybarra was located.

According to a news release from the city of Burnet, Ybarra "is considered very dangerous."

The notice added: "Citizens should not open their doors to unknown persons
... I'm still waiting to get the emergency notification about evacuating due to fire last May ...

Burnet County fire forces hundreds of home evacuations

From a City of Burnet Emergency Notification: "Firefighters have been able to contain the fire to the area south of County Road 200 but warn that the fire is not under control and is very dangerous."

Hmmm apparently we had fires in central texas ... And newspaper says I no longer need to boil water ... wonder why I was supposed to be boiling it ...

[end \rant]

Still, everyone should sign up for notifications if they are available in your areas. Some of us will be talking to our city/County real soon :evil2:

No thanks...the less PII people have, the better. If there is an emergency, there are other means to find out about it. :tiphat:

I'd like to know about wildfires and poisoned water, but escapees probably do not want to approach me, though I'd like to know if my niece is out bike riding about escaped dangerous sex offenders ;-)

Agree 100%...I'm just saying there are other ways to find out. :tiphat:

I was expecting something about a helicopter deploying an EMP, or that the helicopter fell out of the sky because of an EMP.
