Song stuck in my head

I have loaded as many types of music on my smart phone as I can from Rock, to Country (hymns with Autoharp and Dulcimer) Western (Sons of The Pioneers) Inca, Classical and more.

I decided I wanted some Irish/Celtic music. One of the songs I have is John McDermott “The Green Fields of France”. He is a great singer with a fantastic tenor voice. The song is a powerful statement about war.

The problem is I just can’t get it out of my head. I guess the best way is to listen to a lot of other music.

Yes, I knew about "Danny Boy", it is set to an original piece called "Londonderry Aire".

Many. My grandpappy gave me records when I was a little tot, 78rpm, including Bob Wills, The Sons of the Pioneers, Tex Ritter, and such. My mother despaired that I would grow up to love western music instead of the genteel and refined stuff she was trying to drill into my brain. She was right, I did.

Haha, I had the very same thing happen to me about a year and a half ago. The wife and I were in Ireland and headed into a pub one night in Kilkenny. They had live music in the corner, that same song was in my head for the rest of the trip. Took me a while to find a good version of it.

I know some of the purists don't like it because of the "slick" production, but this is my favorite Sons of The Pioneers album. In "Living Stereo". My dad bought this back in the 60s. If not the first, it was one of the first stereo albums that he bought.

The painting on the cover is great. I have this on CD. It is deleted from the US catalog and is an import from Germany!
