Ron Paul in Cowtown

Ron Paul in Cowtown
Ron Paul was in Ft Worth last night, and had a rally at Will Rogers Auditorium.
UT-Dallas students for Ron Paul sponsored the event. I went to see what it was
all about......
I think the auditorium seats about 2,856. The place was packed and SRO crowd.
Just about every ethnic group was represented. The mix of folks in attendance
ranged from burned out hippie to IBM type employee in tie and suit.
He seems to be drawing larger crowds and more youth everywhere he goes.
Main stream media tends to ignore Ron Paul as does the Republican Party.
He has no intention of dropping out of the race. I wish other candidates were
as plain spoken and direct as Ron Paul. He's not as "pretty and polished" but honest.
I went to see Ron Paul because neither Romney or Newt rock my world .
However, I will stand behind anyone... even Romney/Newt ...even if it makes me throw up....
in order to defeat BHO.
I'm sick of having to vote for the lesser of two evils. Same old same old.
Edit: BTW, no 30.06 signs anywhere to be found. No security wanding folks.

Wasn't that a song by Bob Wills 'Ron Paul's in Cowtown'? Oh, no wait, that was this

Seriously, I wouldn't mind seeing Ron Paul and hearing him speak, but I think it is about time he pulls his hat out of the ring. We need to focus on one Republican candidate who will end up getting the GOP nod, and work super hard to get that one in the Presidency. That one is Romney. If we don't, we have 4 more years of the big 'O' No'.

Re: Ron Paul in Cowtown
I think Ron Paul is planning to stay. Take delegates to the convention and fight it out there.
Who knows? I have to admit that I was on board with about 99% of everything he said last night.
Wish I had that kind of confidence in who the GOP is cramming down my throat.

I think that many people go to see Ron Paul for the same reason many went to see Charlie Sheen. They just wanted to see the wheels fly off and how far they would go.

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Well. If having our currency backed by gold/silver, ending the Fed, repealing the 16th A, throwing out Obamacare entirely,
doing away with the Patriot Act and getting personal freedoms and privacy back, trashing the TSA (see previous), believing
the 4th A is there for a purpose..... believing the 2nd A may just be there so the citizens can make sure the 1st & 4th etal
are obeyed by the ruling elite, stopping the funding of foreign countries, having congress declare war-- not war declred by Executive Order,
drastically ending the federal "give away" programs, personal responsibility for personal actions/decisions etc etc etc etc
Then, I'd love for the wheels to fall off .......

I like Ron Paul. However, some of his Fed policies are un-realistic. There is no enough Gold in the world worth $15T, so how USA can back the US dollars with Gold? Crazy Economics 101.

I'll agree that it can't be solved over night. But there is nothing, again nothing, backing the currency being currently printed out.Beiruty wrote:I like Ron Paul. Unless you consider debt can back currency. That IS crazy Econ 101. So, if I have something worth nothing ........
Where do we start? And if we don't get started PDQ this house of cards will tumble. How do you do it? A combination of efforts.
To have something back our currency? Maybe a buy back of company stock (so to speak). Government starts buying gold/silver,
while at the same time not printing any new worthless paper and while destroying currency currently in circulation. Crazy?
Maybe. Stop sending money to foreign countries. Stop or drastically cut domestic spending/give away programs. If it's
not authorized by the Constitution then get the Fed government out of it (enormous problem as they're into everything they
shouldn't be). Steppenwolf was right, There's a Monster on the Loose.

Ummm....if our currency was actually backed by something - gold or silver - you would not see 15T. The 15T is the inflated value and includes the make believe money.Beiruty wrote:I like Ron Paul. Re: Ron Paul in Cowtown
The thing about our monetary police is that the federal reserve is not needed at all.
Even if you believe our money should not be backed by gold, silver or anything else we still do not need the federal reserve.
The Constitution already gives Congress the authority to deal with our money supply. Hell if our government is going to have our crappy unbalanced budget they might as well ditch the federal reserve as a middle man that way at least we aren't wasting more money on interest.
The federal reserve is a private bank, and for some reason congress decided to allow it to print our country's money for us and we would pay them to do so. Makes no sense to me.

This part I always get confused by. So you'd rather trust Congress to set monetary policy?O.F.Fascist wrote:The thing about our monetary police is that the federal reserve is not needed at all.

Re: Ron Paul in Cowtown
They do already. What happens when the budget isn't balanced, well they just have the fed print up more money. Oh and by the way we will need more money printed so we can pay them to print it for us too.74novaman wrote: This part I always get confused by. So you'd rather trust Congress to set monetary policy?
Re: Ron Paul in Cowtown
Got it. So they already set monetary policy, and they're doing an awful job of it. Therefore, we should abolish the fed and let congress set some more monetary policy, since they've proven how good they are at it.O.F.Fascist wrote:They do already. That about cover it?
No wonder I get confused by the idea.

Monetary policy === induced inflation, or devaluation of the dollar == leverage on the cost of US Federal debt.
Loaning at 0% with real 3% inflation rate == 3% devaluation of the US dollar == 3% discount on US Federal debt
Citizens are carrying more paper bank note, strike-out paper, electronic money.
