IWB Cant?

Post by lightbulb1988 »

Hello all,

I just got a White Hat Max Tuck holster for my 709 slim. I am lost as to what cant I should use. I plan on wearing this holster in the 5 o'clock position. What do I do with the cant? :confused5

Whatever cant enables you to get your perfect grip easily and comfortably.

:iagree:

I carry at 3:00 usually-easier to access in a car seat than 5:00, where I started out. (and less noisy on wooden church pews/metal chairs)
I wear different pistols sometimes
The cant depends on the pistol and what concealed the grip best, what I'm wearing etc.
Generally, the farther around back you wear a pistol, the higher the butt of the gun would be to grip it IMHO.
5:30-6ish I'd be wearing the grip nearly vertical (though small of back/SOB isn't recommended)

From the 5:00 position you'll probably want some forward cant to facilitate the draw. You'll have to experiment with different settings to find out what is right for you.
