FL Governor Rejects Gun Ban During Convention

The Florida governor has rejected a request by the mayor of Tampa, FL, to ban guns from the city's downtown area during the upcoming Republican convention. The Governor cited the Second Amendment in refusing the gun ban.

"It is unclear how disarming law abiding citizens would better protect them from the dangers and threats posed by those who would flout the law," the Republican governor said in a letter on Tuesday.

If only more government officials had this view.
