Picked up a Colt LE6920 at Wally World today.

Post by Right2Carry »

Picked up a Colt LE6920 at my Local Wally World for 1097.00, this was by far the best price I could find locally and that included a trip out to the Gun Show in Fort Worth today! You gotta love it when Wally World is selling these things! A couple of quick pics.

Which Wal Mart is this if you don't mind me asking? Did you notice if they had another? My son is looking for an AR and Colt is one of the three manufacturers that his department approves for duty.

This was the one in Mansfield, Texas. This was the only one they had in stock at the time. I noticed it Thursday but wanted to check out prices at the gun show Saturday before making the purchase. I was actually surprised to find it still available Saturday afternoon, I thought for sure it would be gone since the Sig M400 Enhanced that they had for sale for 917.00 only lasted a couple of days.

I have seen reports of other Walmarts having the Colt LE 6920 for sale as well. It is hit and miss on whether a particular Walmart that sells rifles will have one in stock.

Good luck with your search.

For those interested my buddy up in Graham, Texas states the Wal mart there has several platforms in stock including the Colt LE 6920. It has been my experience that Wal mart usually only keeps one on hand so verify before making a trip! Happy hunting!

That Wal-Mart will let you order stuff not in the store. I've ordered rifles from there that they don't carry. They have a big book behind the counter. You just pay, they order it, and you pick it up a couple days later.

I notice that the carbine from GT Dist. comes with a cheap 6 position stock, whereas the one in the OP looks a bit nicer. Could that be the reason for the $100 price difference? Just wondering.

Question for you Colt fans out there......... If their carbines didn't bear the Colt name, what price point would you expect to find them at, quality-wise? I'm not making a statement here as I don't really know much about the brand. Other than one Bushmaster varmint rifle I bought several years ago, I've always rolled my own. So other than the Colt name, what makes their basic patrol carbine worth over $1,000 when you can buy or build one similarly configured for about $800 or so?

Just curious.

I'm not going to get into a ton of details, but there is a lot of vociferous debate on the various models and "tiers" of M-4's on the civilian market. Much ado is bandied about as to what is "mil-spec" and "Good to go", with various references to "The Chart", which compares most of the major commerical models in multiple categories. Generally, Colt's are considered as "Tier 1" rifles, along with BCM, LMT, Noveske and LaRue, and that they and BCM are considered to be the best value in the Tier 1 camp. The debates get heated, which I find kind of humorous since most of the guys arguing about it are internet commandos who love to bandy about terms like "two way range" and such, but have never been and never will be in any kind of situation which requires them to need a mil-spec type MBR...

Quick thanks to the OP for the find and to Brettster for the intel about San Marcos. Headed over that way yesterday and purchased the 6920 they had in stock.

Only weird occurrence was the sales clerk telling me I couldn't shoot .223 out of that gun because it was chambered in 5.56. As this is my first AR, I patiently listened to what he had to say without argument, but I was under the impression that shooting .223 out of 5.56-chambered rifle was fine, just not the other way around due to the extra pressure of the 5.56 cartridge.
