This was the one in Mansfield, Texas. This was the only one they had in stock at the time. I noticed it Thursday but wanted to check out prices at the gun show Saturday before making the purchase. I was actually surprised to find it still available Saturday afternoon, I thought for sure it would be gone since the Sig M400 Enhanced that they had for sale for 917.00 only lasted a couple of days.carlson1 wrote:Which Wal Mart is this if you don't mind me asking? Did you notice if they had another? My son is looking for an AR and Colt is one of the three manufacturers that his department approves for duty.
To the OP, congrats on the new rifle.gigag04 wrote:Carlson, Send your son here:

They have stores in Austin and now Dallas.
To the OP: nice find!
I notice that the carbine from GT Dist. comes with a cheap 6 position stock, whereas the one in the OP looks a bit nicer. Could that be the reason for the $100 price difference? Just wondering.gigag04 wrote:Carlson, Send your son here:

Question for you Colt fans out there......... If their carbines didn't bear the Colt name, what price point would you expect to find them at, quality-wise? I'm not making a statement here as I don't really know much about the brand. Other than one Bushmaster varmint rifle I bought several years ago, I've always rolled my own. So other than the Colt name, what makes their basic patrol carbine worth over $1,000 when you can buy or build one similarly configured for about $800 or so?
Just curious.
