Home Depot has their Kingsford charcoal on sale though the weekend I think.
It's two 13.9lb bags of charcoal for $5.88.

It's probably metric. Remember a fifth [of a gallon] of wine is now a smaller 750 ml bottle that costs more money.

Kingsford makes charcoal?

I thought they made black sawdust. Bricketts aren't charcoal.

If you're not using real hardwood lump charcoal, you might as well just stay inside and cook on a gas range.

Briquettes do make nice cheap, biodegradable skeet, though.

I typically use dried pecan or mesquite wood but when I do charcoals I get mines at Kroger, it's Royal Oak 100% Natural Wood Charcoal.

It's been a while since I've bought one... but I think it's a 20lb bag of charred mesquite for $20 (maybe less) at HEB.

I can't even stand the smell of burning mesquite anymore after the wildfires.
